Sometimes, less is more. In this example, I've used a simple stainless steel bead with a carved scroll design and added turquoise barrel beads to set it off. Hangs on a 3mm premium 18" braided leather cord with a magnetic clasp. 
Just enough of a southwest statement to stand out in a crowd without over-stating things.
